SEQUIM — A mowed area in an open hayfield will serve as the setting Saturday morning when Friends of the Field Foundation holds its “Celebration in the Field Brunch.”
The by-invitation-only event will honor community members who helped the foundation purchase Olympic Valley Farm last winter to protect its 30 acres of prime farmland from development.
Foundation President Bob Caldwell will introduce organization directors, donors and volunteers who contributed to the purchase and subsequent resale of the farm.
Farm buyers John and Heather Erskine also will attend. They will be bringing a team of draft horses and a wagon from their Shire horse operation in Monroe.
The farm, located near the intersection of Kitchen-Dick and Woodcock roads west of Sequim, was previously owned and operated by Norm and Marilyn Siebens.
