PORT HADLOCK — Four members of a Sequim family were injured Saturday afternoon near Port Hadlock when their small car was hit from behind by a sport utility vehicle, said State Patrol Trooper Matt Phillips.
On Sunday, Vincent Bluthenthal, 47, remained in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center with head injuries.
At just past 2 p.m., Bluthenthal had stopped the family’s Honda Civic in the northbound lane of state Highway 19, just south of Port Hadlock, preparing to make a left turn onto Anderson Lake Road.
While the Bluthenthals were waiting for a chance to turn, a Chevy Tahoe driven by Matthew A. Orr, 40, of Seattle, hit their car from behind and pushed it into a telephone pole, Phillips said.
Three passengers in the Honda SEmD Diana Bluthenthal, 47, Cameron Bluthenthal, 14, and Kelly Bluthenthal, 12 SEmD were also injured, Phillips said.

Vincent and Kelly Bluthenthal were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.
The State Patrol report listed Kelly as having head and back injuries, but his status was not available
on Sunday.
Diana and Cameron Bluthenthal were transported to Jefferson General Hospital, with back and leg injuries, where each was treated and released.
Orr, the driver of the second vehicle, and his three passengers were not injured.
Both drivers and all passengers in the vehicles were wearing seat belts,
Phillips said.
There was no suspicion of drugs or alcohol, he said.
There were no tickets issued at the scene, pending investigation of the wreck, said Trooper Krista Hedstrom, State Patrol spokeswoman.
