SEQUIM — Residents of the Suncrest Apartments near downtown Sequim say there’s a cat hanging around the neighborhood, and it’s not one you’d want to take in.
At least four people in the last few days have spotted a large male cougar wandering around the complex at East Prairie Street and South Sunnyside Avenue, according to Suncrest manager Dan McDonald.
“When I first heard about it from a tenant, I took it with a grain of salt,” McDonald said Wednesday.
“The next thing I know, my wife saw it, and that’s when I decided it was real,” he said.
A tenant of McDonald’s told him she’d seen the cat during daylight hours, and described it as an older male.
