The Sequim-Dungeness Chamber of Commerce names its 2004 Citizen of the Year today — and the honoree will be either Dave Blake, Emily Westcott or Bob and Evelyn Hough.
The nominees will be recognized at a chamber luncheon meeting, open to the public, that starts at noon at John Wayne Marina. Lunch costs $10 and reservations are required by calling 360-683-6197 or e-mailing jeri@cityofsequim.com.
A committee of previous recipients selected the finalists from a pool of Sequim citizens nominated by members of the community.
Finalists are chosen based on their history of outstanding volunteer service to the Sequim community. An individual or two people working jointly in a community project or projects — such as the Houghs — can be nominated to receive a joint award.
