SEQUIM — The employment status of a Sequim School District choir teacher placed on administrative leave in January appears in jeopardy, but district officials will not confirm that he has been discharged.
Dave Cross, an 18-year district employee and choir director at Sequim High School and Sequim Middle School, was served last week with official notice of findings of an investigation into alleged misconduct and notified of Schools Superintendent Garn Christensen’s decision on his continuing employment.
Principals at both schools where Cross has taught told his students Monday that he would not be returning for the remainder of the school year.
Cross was placed on paid administrative leave Jan. 21 pending the outcome of an investigation into alleged violations of the state Office of Public Instruction’s Professional Code of Conduct.
