Sequim chamber director resigns

SEQUIM — Shelli Robb-Kahler has announced her resignation from the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce’s executive director position.

The chamber announced on Friday that Robb-Kahler has accepted a management position with Sound Bank.

She is providing six-weeks notice “to assist in finding my replacement and to leave the Chamber in the best situation as possible,” she said in a chamber email.

“I have been given an opportunity that is too good to pass up,” she said in the email. “It was a very difficult decision to make – I truly wasn’t looking for a new job.

“Serving the members of this steadfast and vibrant organization has been a complete honor,” she continued. “I have fully enjoyed providing dedicated time and services to advance, support, and promote your business or organization whenever and wherever possible, along with celebrating your successes.”

Chamber President Shenna Younger said that Robb-Kahler “has played a critical role in our chamber’s health and sustainability.

“Under her leadership, we have grown membership, expanded our volunteer base, modernized and streamlined processes while improving member benefits and services, and have built up our reserves.”

Younger said the chamber leadership will start a search for a new executive director.

Robb-Kahler said she planned to stay in the area.
