Sequim celebrates with patriotic concert

SEQUIM — A patriotic concert to celebrate the country’s heritage will be held on the Fourth of July at the outdoor bandstand at the James Center for the Performing Arts next to Carrie Blake Park.

Starting at 2 p.m. on Monday, the Peninsula Men’s Chorus will perform a concert followed by the Sequim City Band at 3 p.m., with announcers Bob Spinks and Bob Rhoades of the Sequim KSQM-FM Bob and Bob Show.

The band will play pieces such as “The National Emblem March,” “Armed Forces Salute,” “Selections from the Music Man” and “American Flourish,” ending with “Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Phillip Sousa.

Parking will be a little different this summer season as the work continues for the playing fields located directly off Rhodefer Road.

Attendees are asked to park at Carrie Blake Park and walk on the path to the bandstand or park on Blake Avenue or surrounding side streets.

Handicapped parking is available in the Sequim Water Reuse parking lot.

For more information, phone 360-683-8226.
