SEQUIM — Three North Olympic Library System directors Tuesday indicated their willingness to float a trial balloon to gauge public interest in construction of a new library.
During a special meeting, directors authorized an appraisal of a 3.32-acre parcel adjacent to Sequim Middle School on West Hendrickson Road.
The property, owned by the Bobbie Hamilton estate, has a sale price of $415,000.
Real estate sales agent Catherine Mich said proceeds from the sale will be given to the city of Moscow, Idaho, to provide youth programs.
Under a plan presented Tuesday by Mich, the library district could obtain an option to purchase the property by putting up $10,000 non-refundable.
