SEQUIM — The Sequim Bay Yacht Club will celebrate its opening day with a public open house, a blessing of the fleet and a boat parade Sunday.
During the open house, set from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at John Wayne Marina, 2577 W. Sequim Bay Road, visitors can stroll the docks, walk through cruising boats and enjoy rides on sailboats.
Local vendor GoExpedition will offer rentals on kayaks and paddleboards.
Also, the yacht club has several quad rowing boats that will be available for use.
A marina meeting room will be open for members and visitors, with snacks provided.
After a skippers meeting at 1:30 p.m. will be a flag ceremony and the blessing of the fleet.
At 2 p.m., a bagpiper will play during a boat parade in Sequim Bay.
Club members will end the day with a potluck dinner and music.
