SEQUIM — Sequim’s sixth annual Back to School Fair, a free event for Sequim families with children up to age 18, is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The event will be at the Sequim unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula at 400 W. Fir St.
A similar event for Port Angeles students was held Aug. 18.
The event includes school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, books, free food, car seat checks, a school bus, fire truck and police car, phone booth and activities.
Parents and youths can learn more about immunizations and health care, school bus routes and route-riding tips, free and reduced price lunch programs, local preschools and other early learning programs, vision screenings and dental hygiene for youths.
The event is presented by Kiwanis Club of Sequim-Dungeness Valley, Parenting Matters, Sequim School District and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.
Vendor booths will include Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, Sequim School District, The Kiwanis Club of Sequim-Dungeness Valley, Parenting Matters/First Teacher, Boy Scouts, Sequim Food Bank, Volunteers in Medicine of the Olympics, Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP), Little Explorers Learning Center, Olympic Peninsula YMCA, The Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic, Dungeness Community Church and Vanir Construction Management.
School begins Sept. 5 in Sequim. It will start Sept. 4 in Port Angeles.
