SEQUIM — A 39-year-old man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Sunday afternoon after suffering possible injuries when a sand cliff collapsed at Voice of America Park on Dungeness Spit near Sequim.
An eight-year-old boy taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles with a possible back injury was reported OK.
Clallam Fire District 3 Capt. Lawrence Bingham said four people were walking along the park bluffs when the sand caved away, sending three of them over the edge.
Two were picked off the slope by Clallam County Search and Rescue personnel, Bingham said.
