SEKIU — Coast Guard officials Tuesday confirmed that the body of a man found adrift in the Strait of Juan de Fuca is an Eastern Washington fisherman missing since last Thursday following a boating incident north of LaPush.
Andrew Floch, 19, of Odessa was still wearing his lifejacket Monday night when his body was discovered by an unidentified Spokane man fishing 2½ miles north of Sekiu.
Officials said Floch likely died from exposure after spending several hours in the frigid water — his body was found more than 60 miles from where the wrecked vessel he was fishing on was discovered on an island just offshore of LaPush.
