SECOND UPDATE: PORT ANGELES — A diver who was taken to Olympic Medical Center this morning (Tuesday) after a diving accident was brought up to the surface by a fellow diver after his face mask was dislodged, Clallam County Sheriff Sgt. Lyman Moores said.
Moores said two men were diving for geoduck clams somewhere off Dungeness Spit at about 8:10 a.m. when one diver’s face mask was ripped off. He said he didn’t know how that happened.
The other diver brought him up the surface and a state Department of Natural Resources boat, the Dawn Breaker, brought both divers in to the Puget Sound Pilot Station on Ediz Hook at Port Angeles.
Moores did not identify either of the men.
He did not know the condition of the diver taken to OMC but said he had a pulse when he was taken off the boat.
UPDATE: One man had been taken to Olympic Medical Center as of 10 am. today (Tuesday) after a diving accident off Green Point, Port Angeles Police Officer Lucas Degand said.
The diver had been brought into the Puget Sound Pilot Station on Ediz Hook by boat, the Dawn Breaker.
Green Point is just west of Dungeness Spit near the mouth of Siebert Creek.
Degand did not know the man’s name or condition.

PORT ANGELES — An unidentified diver was involved in “diving emergency” this morning (Tuesday).
Port Angeles Fire Chief Ken Dubuc said an ambulance and fire engine unit were en route at 9:30 a.m. to the Puget Sound Pilot Station, not far from Coast Guard Air Station/Sector Field Office Port Angeles on Ediz Hook after receiving a report that a diver was involved in an accident.
Dubuc said a boat carrying the diver was on its way to the pilot station, but he did not have any additional information at that time.
