Phillip E. Roderick, 69, of Olympia, who was hurt in a Dec. 23 collision that fatally injured the hereditary Hoh chief, died Saturday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, said a nursing supervisor at the hospital.
Roderick was airlifted to Harborview for treatment of injuries to his stomach, chest and face after the wreck.
Herbert Clyde Fisher Jr., 52, known as Chief Klia, died of his injuries in the collision Wednesday at Harborview.
The collision was at 2:22 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 about 11 miles south of Forks.
Fisher was traveling south in a 1994 Ford Explorer near milepost 179 when his SUV crossed the centerline, according to the State Patrol.
The car collided with a 2003 Cadillac Escalade driven by Roderick, who was traveling north.
Fisher had suffered several broken vertebrae, a broken jaw and severe internal injuries.
Vincent A. Rosander, 69, of LaPush, a passenger in Fisher’s car, was treated and discharged from Forks Community Hospital the day of the wreck.
