PORT LUDLOW — A 45-year-old man has been missing from the Port Ludlow area since Saturday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael May, a Seattle resident who owns property in Port Ludlow with his wife, Judy Hugueley-May, left the couple’s Seattle home about 9 a.m. Saturday to spend time by himself at the couple’s Port Ludlow home at 31 E. Alder St.
He has not been seen since.
May is 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 208 pounds. He has a “catfish” mustache and usually wears baseball hats to cover his balding head, said his wife.
He was last seen wearing denim jeans, white tennis shoes and a black, hooded sweatshirt.
Distressful news
Hugueley-May said her husband received distressful news Wednesday evening that he would not be inheriting his mother’s house.
“He wasn’t himself Thursday or Friday,” said Hugueley-May.
When she didn’t hear from her husband later that night, she called a neighbor to check on him.
The neighbor discovered the back door unlocked. May’s wallet, car keys and watch were on the kitchen counter.
Hugueley-May drove to Port Ludlow to see what may have happened to her husband.
When she arrived and didn’t find him, she called the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy was sent and began a search at about 9:45 p.m. around Paradise Bay Road but did not find him.
Two deputies continued searching Sunday and Monday and found no trace of May.
“He’s been entered into the state computer system as a missing person,” said Sheriff Mike Brasfield. “But we have no leads.”
Hugueley-May gathered some of her husband’s friends on Tuesday to help make fliers she plans to post around Port Ludlow.
“It’s like he walked off the face of the earth,” said Hugueley-May.
