According to a report by Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Seattle Seahawks have made a trade for Minnesota receiver Percy Harvin for draft picks.
The Seahawks have not confirmed the deal, which cannot become official until the new league year officially begins Tuesday.
Further, according to the report, the trade for Harvin, 24, won’t become official until he passes a physical. Harvin reportedly is on his way to Seattle, arriving tonight.
Seattle has 10 picks in this year’s draft, and head coach Pete Carroll said at his season-ending news conference that it was likely that all 10 picks would not make the 2013 roster. So Seahawks general manager John Schneider had some motivation to move a couple picks if he could get an impact player back in return.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the trade includes Seattle giving up its No. 25 overall, first-round pick in this year’s draft, and that Harvin will receive a new deal in Seattle.
According to Glazer, Seattle is giving up a first round and seventh round pick in this year’s draft, along with a mid-round pick in 2014.
Harvin gives Seattle one of the best three-receiver sets in the league, and likely will play slot receiver, with Sidney Rice and Golden Tate out wide.
Harvin also reunites with Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who served as his offensive coordinator in Minnesota.
