PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles schools could join with other governments to build a performing arts center to replace the high school’s auditorium.
The idea was among suggestions put forth at a public forum last week on the deteriorating condition of many Port Angeles school buildings and what can be done to upgrade them.
Eventually, the school district’s Long-Range Facilities and Capital Bond Committee will recommend what repairs should be made to which schools and how they should be financed.
The school board will make the final decision.
John Ford of Port Angeles raised the possibility of sharing the cost of a community performing arts center, which schools Superintendent Gary Cohn said could be done.
