QUILCENE — Quilcene’s bid to unseat defending SeaTac League champion Evergreen Lutheran from first place fell short in a 28-8 defeat Saturday.
The Rangers started strong, taking the opening kickoff and marching down for a touchdown on a QB keeper by Eli Harrison for an 8-0 lead.
Harrison suffered what Quilcene coach Byron Wilson said was a “mild concussion” in the second quarter, knocking the starting quarterback and All-State defensive back out of the contest.
The Rangers led 8-6 at halftime but wilted after Harrison left the field in an ambulance at the beginning of the third quarter.
Quilcene allowed the Eagles’ offense to take flight in the second half, as Evergreen Lutheran scored three straight TDs.
