SEQUIM — Riders up on their high horses and disc golfers out for a fling will get to hammer out a plan to accommodate both their interests at Robin Hill Park.
They’ll be drawn from the contentious crowd that argued saddles vs. flying discs at last week’s public meeting.
Joel Winborn, manager of Clallam County’s Parks, Fair and Facilities Division, told the Park and Recreation Advisory Board on Tuesday he’ll assemble the group as soon as he and his staff pull together the comments from that meeting.
“Nothing is cast in stone,” Winborn said.
As for a preliminary plan shown at the meeting, he said, “We had to start somewhere and put a dot on the map. We have a place to begin.”
That version was at least the third park personnel drew up, and there are likely to be many more.
“We’re going to form a study group of many of the people who attended this meeting” — equestrians, disc golfers, even residents of the Lazy Acres retirement community across Dryke Road from the park, he said.
Meanwhile, comments can be directed to the parks staff until July 11. For addresses or an e-mail link, visit the department’s Web site, www.clallam.net/CountyParks.
Even if riders and disc golfers agree on a plan, it still must receive a conditional use permit after a public hearing from county Hearing Examiner Chris Melly.
