BEAVER — Work crews from Bruch and Bruch Construction, Inc. will begin emergency replacement of a culvert beneath state Highway 113 at milepost 6.5 Monday.
The culvert was damaged by winter storms in late 2021 and has required a 24-hour per day pumping operation to prevent damage to the road from flooding, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Drivers can expect alternating single lane traffic, controlled by flaggers, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
The emergency repair will stabilize the hillside and protect the road until the culvert is replaced under the Department of Transportation’s fish passage correction program, according to a DOT press release.
The $2.5 million project is expected to be completed by early July.
