PORT ANGELES — A rifle has been found alongside a road that Kenneth S. “Tiny” Johnson Jr. traveled during a robbery and high-speed vehicle pursuit in Sequim and East Jefferson County on Oct. 25.
Johnson, a convicted child rapist and figure in a lengthy manhunt last month, is now in Clallam County jail and awaits trial.
The county Sheriff’s Office said volunteer Parker Stoops and Deputy Matt Murphy of the Clallam County Search and Rescue unit located the rifle near Discovery Bay, where Johnson had allegedly been throwing items from a stolen vehicle used in the pursuit.
The rifle was identified as a likely match by sheriff’s Sgt. John Hollis, who witnessed the robbery. It will be snet to the State Patrol’s crime laboratory for fingerprint and DNA testing, the Sheriff’s Office said.
