PORT ANGELES – The city’s Eighth Street bridges replacement project – redesigned from slant-leg steel to concrete spans – goes out to bid for a second time on Sunday.
The bid opening is set for 2 p.m. on March 13 in the public works conference room at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Awarding the bid could take another month.
The contractor could start work in the late spring.
The contract is for 350 working days, or about 16 months.
The city engineering staff’s project estimate is between $15 million and $20 million.
“We expect the same bidders as last time, just with concrete instead of steel,” said City Traffic Engineer Jim Mahlum.
