PORT ANGELES — John Fabian is still seeking his lost dog, Katie.
The retired astronaunt has offered a $1,000 reward for Katie, a Shetland sheepdog — which is also known as a sheltie — who ran off during a family visit to Lake Crescent about 20 miles west of Port Angeles on Oct. 24.
“We’ve had only a few calls, and those only from people expressing concern,” Fabian said Sunday. “But no sightings.”
Fabian and his wife, Donna, had owned Katie for only about three months, having adopted her from a Bellingham resident. The couple live in the Shine-Port Ludlow area near Hood Canal.
“The previous owner helped us search,” when the Fabians spent six days looking for Katie near Lake Crescent, Fabian said.
“So, it’s a loss for two families.”
Katie was the family’s only dog. Their Sheltie, Rudy, died about a year ago, Fabian said.
Anyone who has seen the dog, which is microchipped, can phone Fabian at 360-437-7911 or 360-531-0597.
