More than 65 competitors and 300 spectators turned out Saturday for the annual Old Fashioned 4th of July log show at Tillicum Park.
“That’s down just a little bit from last year,” event spokesman Jerry Leppell, of Jerry’s Small Engines in Forks, said Saturday.
According to Leppell, the turnout may have been affected by a salmon fishing opener and the fact Independence Day — the first day of the three-day festival — fell on Thursday this year.
“A big thank you to Josh Christy of Forks and all the other people who helped put this on and all the sponsors,” Leppell said. “See you all next year — it’ll be bigger and better.”
