PORT ANGELES — Business owners who are challenging the downtown Saturday Port Angeles Farmers Market’s conditional use permit now want to shut down the operation until the permit issue is resolved.
A requested restraining order is set for a 1:30 p.m. hearing today in Clallam County Superior Court before Court Commissioner Gary Sund.
The legal complaint filed Thursday says that downtown businesses are planning a holiday open house on Saturday and Sunday.
They fear attendance will be adversely affected by the Saturday farmers market, which closes a block of Laurel Street between First and Front streets between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The request was filed by Port Angeles attorney Craig Miller, who is representing 10 downtown Port Angeles business and property owners.
Farmers Market President Maegan Jones said she had no comment on the requested restraining order.
