SEQUIM — U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer has announced a town hall meeting in Sequim in early March.
“I work for the people I represent and it’s important to me that I get opportunities to hear directly from you,” Kilmer said in a news release. “I hope folks will be able to join one of my upcoming town halls to share their ideas and concerns.”
The meeting, the last in a series of town hall meetings across the district, is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 6 in the Sequim High School auditorium, 503 N. Sequim Ave. It is the only such meeting scheduled for the North Olympic Peninsula.
Kilmer, D-Gig Harbor, is also urging constituents to visit www.kilmer.house.gov/contact/your-aca-story to share questions and concerns about the effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
He plans to highlight these stories in Washington, D.C., during the debate in Congress on any repeal legislation.
“Please write in or tell me in person during my town halls,” he said. “We can and should look for constructive ways to reduce health care costs for seniors and families, invest in prevention and increase choices for consumers. But we cannot move backward.”
Other meetings include a town hall held Tuesday in Tacoma, one set for today in Bremerton and another March 3 in Hoquiam.
Kilmer also will hold a telephone town hall March 8 at 6:05 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask Kilmer a question or leave a message with their comments.
Kilmer’s office will post details on how to sign up ahead of the call in the coming weeks.
