PORT ANGELES — Each school in the Port Angeles School District will receive a U.S. flag from a Peninsula businessman to remember Sept. 11.
Mike Millar, owner of ASM Signs, 1327 E. First St., has donated 11 flags to the district. He was recognized by the School Board Monday night.
“I believe the youth of this area have a great respect for the American flag,” Millar said.
“Each school has a flagpole and displays the flags, and I thought it would be nice to update them.”
School Board Vice President Charlie McClain thanked Millar for his generosity and presented an appreciation plaque during the meeting.
