PORT ANGELES — The shooting death of Rosa Hammer has left many questions for law enforcement officials and family and friends of Ms. Hammer.
A Kitsap County deputy coroner said Monday that preliminary toxicology results for Ms. Hammer were not yet available.
Officials originally had said the results might be available Monday from the shooting incident Thursday night near Bremerton.
Ms. Hammer, 27, of Port Angeles, was shot to death Thursday night by Washington State Patrol trooper Ron Kessler during a traffic stop on state Route 16 near the junction with Route 3 in Gorst.
Kessler was shot once in his right hand.
Glen Tyrrell, a spokesman for the State Patrol’s Bremerton detachment, said Kessler is expected to make a “good recovery.”
Tyrrell did not know if Kessler, 32, of Bremerton would have full use of his hand.
