The North Olympic Peninsula weather is beautiful this weekend, but be careful with fire.
The National Weather Service has a red flag warning for fire danger in the coastal hills of the West End as well as along Hood Canal in East Jefferson County.
It’s a combination of low humidity and forecast gusty winds, the Weather Service said in its warning:
OVER THE NORTHWEST OLYMPIC PENINSULA…EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS OF UP TO 18 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 20 TO 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED AT TIMES THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
The current red flag warning is in effect until 3 p.m. Sunday, the Weather Service said.
