Has Democrat Tammy Ramsay dropped out of the race for a 24th Legislative District seat?
Ramsay, a Hoquiam Democrat, “hasn’t been campaigning for a while due to her health,” said her campaign treasurer, Barbara Sumner of Cosmopolis, on Friday.
Asked if Ramsay has suspended her campaign, Sumner responded, “at this time, yes.”
Sumner said she will meet with Ramsay on Monday to further discuss the campaign.
Ramsay has been a no-show in recent weeks on the campaign trail.
She did not attend a June 21 Port Angeles Business Association (PABA) candidates forum.
She and fellow candidate George Vrable of Port Ludlow told League of Women Voters forum organizers in Clallam and Jefferson counties that they were not available on the days the Leagues offered for forums.
Vrable, a Republican, said at the PABA forum that the League of Women Voters was hostile and left-wing.
Ramsay has been unavailable for comment.
Since she filed for the position May 19, Ramsay has not responded to repeated Peninsula Daily News phone and email requests — including Friday — for interviews on her campaign.
She also did not answer questions for a July 10 PDN primary election questionnaire.
Sumner said Ramsay was helping another candidate campaign on Friday.
“She was going around with someone else [Friday] and putting their signs out,” Sumner said.
