ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO accurately predict weather for the North Olympic Peninsula — our famous “rain shadow” often bounces storms away from us, and we usually get less rain than the Puget Sound area and cooler temperatures — but rain is definitely coming our way, according to weather forecasters:

Light rain moves in late tonight, and we’ll start off Friday with some scattered showers. Showers stick around for Friday evening, too with highs only reaching the low 70s [in the Seattle area].
The wettest day of the group appears to be Saturday, which will feature steady moderate rains through much of the day, only tapering off late in the day. It’ll be windy, too with highs on Saturday — in the mid-upper 60s.
Plenty of showers linger through Sunday with highs in the mid-upper 60s.

The upper level low that has been well off the coast the past few days is beginning a move toward the coast.
On Friday, it will rotate a front through western Washington during the day for a round of steady rain followed by off and on showers later in the day.
It will also drop temperatures back into the 60s to low 70s. At the same time Friday, another low will be dropping down the northern BC coast.
These two system will merge Friday night into Saturday, rotating more rain in on Saturday and possibly some thunderstorms.
Right now it looks like we should see steady rain through much of the day Saturday and much cooler temperatures.
