Quilcene School Board members decided Monday night to hire David Andersen, principal of North Kitsap High School, as the next superintendent of schools.
The Quilcene School District will offer a contract to the veteran high school administrator at the next board meeting, tentatively scheduled for June 17.
Andersen has been with North Kitsap High in Poulsbo for 21 years. Before then, he taught business classes at Bainbridge High School.
At Monday night’s school board meeting, Andersen said one of his first efforts would stress school improvements, such as painting and maintenance.
