OLYMPIA — The draft environmental-impact statement on 26 new policies that will replace the 1992 Forest Resource Plan for forested lands managed by the state Department of Natural Resources is available for public review.
A public hearing on the draft policies is set for May 4 at 6 p.m. in Room J47 on the Peninsula College campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
Public hearings also are scheduled May 3 in Lacey, May 5 in Mount Vernon, May 9 in Longview, May 10 in Bellevue, May 11 in Ellensburg and May 12 in Spokane.
A copy of the draft environmental impact statement and other State Environmental Policy Act, or SEPA, documents are posted on the state Department of Natural Resources Web site: www.dnr.wa.gov/sepa.
Comments are due by 5 p.m. on May 16. They can be mailed to the SEPA Center at P.O. Box 47015, Olympia, WA 98504-7015 or e-mailed to sepacenter@wadnr.gov. Include the file number (05-041501) on all comments.
