PORT ANGELES — Raising money for a good cause often takes sacrifice and creativity.
Peninsula Friends of Animals members bared their souls and nearly everything else to raise money for a no-kill animal shelter while creating the 2004 calendar called, “Puss ‘n’ Boots . . . and Fido, Too.”
The 12-month black-and-white calendar, which goes on sale Wednesday, features 13 Port Angeles and Sequim women ranging in age from 20 to 76 wearing almost nothing but strategically placed boots with their cats and dogs.
The fund-raiser calendar is designed to infuse the local Safe Haven no-kill animal shelter with money for pet care.
