SEQUIM — Dave Ditlefsen wasn’t about to let Kasey Bielec beat Sequim.
Neither were his Wolves.
Sequim left-hander Isaac Yamamoto held North Mason scoreless in seven innings of work and the Wolves came up with a pair of clutch two-out hits for a 4-0 Olympic League victory Tuesday.
Yamamoto struck out 10 to earn his first complete game victory on the mound, scattering four hits and seven walks in the process.
Of course, that last number was augmented by three intentional walks to Bielec, a college-bound prospect who had two homers and seven RBIs off Wolves pitching in a critical end-of-season Bulldog win last year.
“If they [were] going to beat us, they were going to have to do it with their other kids. We weren’t going to let [Bielec] beat us,” Ditlefsen said.
“He hurt us too much last year.”
It was the Wolves (3-2 in league, 5-2 overall) bats that doled out the punishment when it mattered most Tuesday.
Sequim’s Tyler Campbell and Preston McFarlen each had two-out scoring hits off Bielec.
The latter drove in two with a single in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Wolves a 4-0 edge.
That was more than enough for Yamamoto, who had it all working against the Bulldogs.
“Isaac threw a fantastic game,” Ditlefsen said. “His curve was pretty sharp today. He got a lot of swings and misses on his curve.
“The kids played real good defense behind Isaac, and he kind of put the team on his shoulders tonight.”
Sequim hosts Klahowya in a makeup game today.

PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders roughed up Knights pitching to win an unexpected home game at Volunteer Field on Tuesday.
With Bremerton’s field deemed unplayable, the Olympic League tilt was moved to Port Angeles to avoid playing the game later in the season.
The Riders (4-2 in league and overall) did well with the home cooking, scoring seven runs in the first four innings to run away with the win.
That included a mammoth effort from Cody Sullivan, who went 3-for-3 with two home runs, two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Port Angeles was scheduled to host Bellingham today in a nonleague affair, but the game was called off because of a bleak weather forecast.

SEQUIM — Ryan O’Mera tied Trojan freshman Trent Wilson for match medalist honors with a 77 as the Wolves (3-0) stayed perfect in Olympic League play Tuesday afternoon.
O’Mera was one of two Wolves to shoot under 80 during 18 holes of play at Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course, with teammate Mallory Maloney firing a 78.
“We got two there. Now we’re going to work on one more,” Sequim coach Vic Quinet said
“The kids played awesome. We were trying to get under 415 and they ended up with 412.”
Sequim will host North Kitsap next Tuesday at Cedars at Dungeness.

BREMERTON — The Riders (6-0 in league and overall) continued their stampede through Olympic League play with a five-inning mercy-rule win Tuesday.
Five different Riders had multi-hit games, highlighted by Mariah Frazier’s 3-for-4 game with two home runs and four RBIs.
Stacy Webb went the distance on the mound, striking out seven for her fourth win of the year.
The Riders get the rest of the week off before heading to Klahowya next Monday.
They will host Sequim two days after that in a game that will go a long way toward deciding who wins the Olympic League title.

Quilcene sweeps
QUILCENE — The Rangers scored a combined 48 runs to trounce Christian Faith in doubleheader action Monday.
Quilcene won the first game 26-1 with Sarah Bacchus capturing the victory on the mound. Bacchus struck out eight in three innings pitched.
Sammy Rae went deep at the plate twice, hitting a home run and grand slam.
Rae picked up the pitching win in the second game, a 22-3 Ranger win.
Quilcene faces Seattle Lutheran on Friday at home.

SEQUIM — The North Mason revenge parade stopped in Dungeness Valley on Tuesday, with the Wolves handing the former Olympic League powers a humbling defeat.
The Bulldogs, who won at least a share of the past four league titles, were pounded for 10 runs in the first inning of the five-inning mercy-rule loss.
Lea Hopson led the Wolves charge at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double, triple, two home runs and eight RBIs.
Demiree Briones picked up the win on the mound, going five innings and striking out three.
The Wolves (4-0, 6-0) face Bremerton Monday at home.
