FORKS — Electricity remained out for about 5,700 West End customers of Clallam County Public Utility District while they awaited the arrival of Bonneville Power Administration crews to repair wind-ravaged power lines, a PUD spokeswoman said Sunday afternoon.
“We haven’t heard anything from Bonneville,” Nicole Clark of the PUD said at 2:45 p.m. “We hope they have things restored by dark, but we can’t control that.”
Power began going out to customers early Sunday morning in an outage that also impacted about 300 additional customers in the Carlsborg and Sequim areas, most of whom had their power restored by Sunday afternoon, Nicole Clark said.
Discovery Bay began losing power at about 5:30 a.m.
Neah Bay lost lost power by 7 a.m. and had it restored by Sunday afternoon, she said.
A tree fell down across a power line on West Lake Pleasant Road in Beaver.
The city of Forks and communities of Beaver and Sappho also were without power, Clark said.
Electricity began going out to Neah Bay at around 4:30 a.m., Undersheriff Ron Cameron said.
“Winds started hitting them at about 4:30 this morning,” Cameron said.
