PORT ANGELES — Burglars who cut power to businesses before breaking in have hit at least two businesses downtown.
Both Harbor Towne Mall at Lincoln and Railroad streets and Odyssey Bookshop, 114 W. Front St., were burglarized Wednesday morning, according to the police log.
“In both instances, power and phone service were cut to the buildings,” said Barbara Frederick, executive director of the Port Angeles Downtown Association, in an email.
“They were not able to get into Odyssey, so nothing was stolen, but extensive damage was done at Harbor Towne and thousands of dollars were taken,” she said.
Ten burglaries in which power was cut to buildings before businesses were entered had been reported as of last week.
The burglaries were on East Eighth Street and North Francis Street.
