Port Townsend: Uptown Fair on tap Saturday

PORT TOWNSEND — Music, food, arts and crafts and a colorful parade will be part of the annual Uptown Street Fair this Saturday.

“Viva La Uptown” is the theme of the 11th annual event celebrating the historical neighborhood often called the “heart of Port Townsend.”

Events will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and center around Lawrence and Tyler streets.

The Uptown Parade, one of the most popular parts of the celebration, begins at 1 p.m.

Music, food and crafts will the also be part of the mix.

A street dance will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Musical guests throughout the day include the Delta Rays, Wasufu, Davie Meis and Friends, and “Little Fiddles” with Harmony Preschool.

Food and beer

An outdoor beer garden will be hosted by The Uptown Pub, and food booths will feature fare from Lanza’s Sweet Laurette Patiserie and Aldrich’s Grocery.

The Port Townsend Arts Guild is sponsoring the annual Arts and Crafts Fair.

Other entertainment includes Joan O’Meara’s Dance Studio, face painting by The Boiler Room and a sidewalk art competition.

City Councilman Geoff Masci will be the emcee of this year’s event.
