PORT TOWNSEND — The Port of Port Townsend is seeking demolition permits on all but three Port-owned buildings at historical Point Hudson.
The white buildings, built in the style of a New England maritime village, were once an immigration station and, later, a Navy, Army and Coast Guard installation.
They were reacquired in April by the Port of Port Townsend from a leaseholder who operated them as part of a resort.
While the Port is going ahead with the demolition permit process, Port officials say they are a long way from tearing down any buildings.
“This is going to be a lengthy public process,” Executive Director Larry Crockett said.
The buildings that demolition permits are being applied for will not necessarily be razed. Some may be relocated and some may be renovated.
