PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend High School Scholarship Foundation recently announced the award of $35,500 in scholarships to graduating seniors.
The awards are:
• Andy Palmer Scholarship: Jason Kunz, $3000, Bellingham Technical College (Paramedic Certification).
• Terry Purviance Scholarship: Rosalyn Salmon, $10,000, Central Washington University.
• K.C. Nomura STEM Scholarship: Raphael Bakin, $2,000, of Washington (Department of Atmospheric Sciences).
• The Holiday Wreath Scholarship: Owen Scanlon, $1,500, State College and Leianna Kunz, $1,500, State University.
• The Port Townsend High School Scholarship Foundation Scholarship Awards: Sasha Mosier, $7,000, Western Washington University; Ben Mattern, $4500, University of Portland; Rosalyn Salmon, $4500, Central Washington University; Raphael Bakin, $2,000, University of Washington (Department of Atmospheric Sciences); and Annika Carlson, $2,000, Macalester College.
According to a press release, the Scholarship Foundation, which is separate from the school district, has awarded more than $700,000 to 740 students since its inception in 1974.
