PORT TOWNSEND — An early morning fire broke out in the McCurdy building Wednesday, gutting a tattoo parlor and causing smoke and water damage to several businesses.
The fire, which started inside a small utility room in a tattoo parlor, sent smoke billowing over the intersection of Taylor and Water streets at around 8:20 a.m.
Firefighters doused the blaze within a minute of arriving, but the building sustained smoke and water damage, officials said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
