PORT TOWNSEND — In anticipation of the first Port Townsend Farmers Market of the season this Saturday, the online produce market is open to shoppers through 1 p.m. Thursday at jcfmarkets.org.
To place an order, purchasers must set up an account and then use a credit, debit or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) electronic benefits transfer card.
Those who use EBT cards are asked to pay for their orders Saturday at the market information booth near the entrance of the market at Tyler and Lawrence streets.
The farmers market offers a dollar-for-dollar match for EBT purchases, market manager Deirdre Morrison noted.
EBT cards can be used to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, fresh herbs and edible plant starts.
Online shoppers can collect their purchases at the Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St., on Saturday.
Those whose last names begin with A through M pick up between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and those whose surnames start with N through Z pick up between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

The live, traditional Port Townsend Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Shoppers are asked to send just one person from their household to the market; wear a face mask, stay 6 feet from people outside their households and buy their groceries without touching other food.
