PORT TOWNSEND — An online forum with candidates for Port Townsend City Council Positions 1 and 5 is set from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 7 and residents are urged to provide questions.
Sponsored by the League of Women Voters-Jefferson County and American Association of University Women-Port Townsend, the forum will be moderated by Renee Klein.

Links to the forum — which can be accessed by computer, tablet or phone — have been posted on the League’s website at https://lwvwa.org/Jefferson/.
KPTZ 91.9 FM will simulcast the forum and livestream it at https://kptz.org.
The forum will also be recorded, edited for brevity, and later linked on the League’s website and YouTube channel.
Candidates will give timed opening and closing statements, and will answer questions submitted by the public. There is still time to submit questions to lwvjeffcowa@gmail.com.
“Concise, unbiased questions will be given priority,” the league press release said. “Similar questions may be combined, and every effort will be made to cover a wide range of subjects.”
Ballots for the Nov. 2 election will be mailed starting Oct. 13 and must be turned in by 8 p.m. Nov. 2 to be counted.
New online and mailed-in registrations to vote must be received by Oct. 25.
In person registration at the Jefferson County Courthouse is possible during business hours through Nov. 2.
