The Port Townsend City Council gave final approval Monday night to a $3.465 million bond to finance the building of a City Hall annex and restoration of City Hall.
The council voted 5-1 in favor of issuing and selling a 20-year bond. Councilman Al Youse opposed the project and Councilman Joe Finnie was absent.
The City Council authorized moving forward with the bond Aug. 19. It would pay for building a 9,000-square-foot to 10,000-square-foot annex to house city administrative offices in the parking lot behind City Hall, 540 Water St.
The plan also includes funding for renovating up to 3,000 square feet of office space inside City Hall and seed money to look at a large-scale restoration of the building.
