Port Townsend City Council to hear legislative updates on policing

The Port Townsend City Council will hear a brief on new state legislation on policing when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.; unvaccinated attendees are requested to wear a mask.

County commissioners

The Board of Jefferson County Commissioners will discuss, and possibly act, on supporting KPTZ’s request for statutory relief from state leaseholder excise tax when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The three commissioners will also conduct a workshop on Public Works programs during a special meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

• Additional funding for Public Health contracts with the state Department of Health and with Skookum Contract Services Cooperation.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when it meets at noon Monday.

Lodging Tax Committee

The Jefferson County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will consider adjustments to 2021 grants when it meets at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The committee will consider a $60,000 request from the Tourism Coordinating Council, a $14,000 request from the Forks Chamber of Commerce, a $10,000 request from the Olympic Peninsula Gateway Visitors Center and a $10,906 request from the Quilcene Historical Museum.

The committee will also discuss the funds available for 2022.

Quilcene School Board

The Quilcene School Board will conduct a self-review when it meets in a work/study session at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The board will meet in Room 9 at 294715 U.S. Highway 101 in Quilcene.

The board will set goals for 2021-2022 and review the strategic plan.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will hear an update on the Northwest Open Access Network (NoaNet) contract talks when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
