PORT ANGELES — The Port of Port Angeles has agreed to sell 113 acres for a sprint boat course for $1.05 million.
The port commissioners approved a purchase and sale agreement with the Dan Morrison Group on Thursday.
Port Executive Director Bob McChesney said the agreement would be finalized today.
Representatives from the Morrison Group didn’t attend the meeting, and declined comment on Thursday.
The former Critchfield property, which is zoned heavy industrial, is also known as the South Airport Industrial Properties.
The property was annexed into the city in 1985 as part of the 465-acre Delhur annexation.
The port bought the property for $400,000 in 1998 and has tried to develop it or sell it for such uses as a golf course and a sawmill.
Last month, a group that included Dan Morrison, Don Zozosky and Randy Alderson proposed building a sprint boat race course on the property.
