PORT ANGELES — The new Port of Port Angeles boss is expected to be named Monday.
The Port’s board of commissioners meets at 9:30 a.m. in Port headquarters, 330 W. First St., Port Angeles, make their executive director selection official.
The new person will succeed Clyde Boddy, who is retiring after a transition period with his successor.
Commissioners canceled a special meeting last Wednesday, at which they were to announce the new executive director.
“We asked our consultant to get additional information on a couple of candidates,” said Commissioner Leonard Beil.
“That’s why we changed the date of the announcement from July 7 to July 12.”
The announcement won’t come immediately Monday morning.
Following a public comment session, the commissioners will go into private executive session for about 20 minutes to discuss the selection and contract terms, Beil said.
The commissioners appointed Boddy and Port attorney Steve Oliver to conduct negotiations with the chosen candidate, including such items as salary, benefits, a relocation allowance and severance package.
