A decision on the next Port of Port Angeles executive director will be made next week, Port commissioners decided Monday.
The commissioners set a special meeting for July 7 at Port headquarters, 330 W. First St., Port Angeles.
The meeting will begin with an executive session at 9 a.m., followed by an open session at about 9:30 a.m. to announce the decision.
The commissioners decided they need more time to review interview comments and background information on the six finalists — who are meeting with the commissioners, Port advisory committee members and the general public through today.
Following a full day of meetings with advisory committees comprised of Port staff, management and so-called “stakeholders” in the Port, the six candidates attended a public social hour Monday evening at John Wayne Marina in Sequim.
Those who met the six were given a short form to record their comments for commissioners.
Retiring Executive Director Clyde Boddy said copies of all the comment forms would be made this morning, before commissioners interview the six individually in closed session.
The executive session is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. today at the Port’s headquarters.
