Japenese maples grow amid boulders on a slope heading down to Port Ludlow Bay.
Nearby, an arbor of honeysuckles makes a fine place for quiet reflection.
It’s called the “million dollar” garden, and it’s part of the Jefferson County Secret Gardens Tour set for this Saturday.
Eight gardens in Port Ludlow — their location remains a secret until you buy a ticket — will be showcased from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Tickets come with self-guided tour directions to participating gardens.
Tickets for the seventh annual self-guided tour are available at the Port Ludlow Beach Club, 121 Marina View Drive, for $15 the day of the tour.
Advance tickets for the tour are $12 and are available at the Washington State University Cooperative Extension Office, Shold Business Park, 201 Patison St., Port Hadlock, and Henery’s Garden Center, 406 Benedict St., Port Townsend.
This is the first year Port Ludlow is hosting the Secret Gardens Tour.
