SHINE — A Port Ludlow man was airlifted to a Seattle hospital after a wreck on state Highway 104 about 20 miles south of Port Townsend today (Saturday).
Gary F. Zambor, 37, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after his car was hit by a pickup at about 3 p.m., the State Patrol said.
His condition was not immediately available from the hospital.
Jacob T. Richardson, 17, of Bainbridge Island was cited for traveling too fast, the State Patrol said.
Troopers said that Zambor, driving a silver 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound, was stopped to make a left turn at Milepost 12.8 when Richardson’s maroon 1994 Ford pickup, also traveling eastbound, struck him, they said.
Troopers said that Richardson was traveling behind a red Jeep that passed Zambor on the right shoulder and did not see Zambor’s car stopped.
Both cars were damaged and were towed from the scene.
